Summer 2024 Gallery Renovation Closure

Saturday, Apr 20, 5:00PM - 10:00AM

Thanks to a grant from the Helen Frankenthaler Foundation, as well as state funding specifically earmarked for infrastructure projects, we now have an unprecedented opportunity to improve our building and the visitor and staff experience therein. We are installing all new lighting throughout the upstairs galleries, and subtly reconfiguring a couple of them to allow for easier traffic flow between the Guild and Ivy Galleries. The Benjamin Auditorium will get a new computer system, and the first-floor galleries will be entirely repainted ahead of the 2024–25 exhibitions.

First, however, we must close the museum for the work to take place this summer.

The museum will close to the public on Sunday, May 26, and will reopen on Tuesday, August 13 with regular hours.

Visit the works on view in the Sculpture Courtyard.

When we reopen in August, our building will have changed to keep up with our ambitious Strategic Framework, and other improvements will be underway as well.
