Artists’ Conversation: Roymieco Carter and Steven Cozart

Sunday, Oct 19, 2:00PM - 3:30PM

Join Greensboro artists and educators Roymieco Carter and Steven Cozart in a conversation about their individual and collective approach to their art.  Listen in as they share about their trajectory, process, and current exhibition as part of the Chop Shop Artists Collective, Chop Shop: We Are Here. This conversation is presented in the context of the exhibition Fighters for Freedom: William H. Johnson Picturing Justice and serves as a contemporary lens through which to view themes of representation, cultural recognition, and art-making as a Black artist, then and now.

This panel discussion is part of the Sunday Best program.

ASL interpretation is available for this conversation.

This program is presented in partnership with the UNCG African American and African Diaspora Studies Program (AADS), the DigitalGreensboro.org community archiving initiative, and the project Conversations in Black: African American History and Heritage, Greensboro, NC.
