Black Identities on the Operatic Stage: A Symposium with Music

With a keynote by Naomi André–the foremost authority on Black opera and the first Scholar-in-Residence at the Seattle Opera—the symposium features research papers on the composition, production, history, and criticism of Black opera and the experiences of Black opera practitioners. A concert
of excerpts from operas by Black composers follows in the UNC Greensboro School of Music.
