WAM volunteer Barb Newbauer will discuss a work of art on view in the exhibition Gilded: Contemporary Artists Explore Value and Worth on February 7 at 12:30 and again on February 9th at 6pm. As a volunteer docent at the Weatherspoon, Barb provides informative tours to visitors on the museum's exhibitions and collections. The artwork she has chosen to do a deep dive on is william cordova's untitled (but some of us are brave), 2020. Barb will discuss the work's narrative and materials and how both convey value and worth in contemporary society.
