Live Drawing with Tyler Jones
SATURDAY, APR 22, 2-4PM
Location: Weatherspoon Art Museum: Outside, Sculpture Courtyard
Tyler Jones will be creating live artwork using pencils and oil pastels. Tyler practices in this medium to tell the story of the African Diaspora from their perspective. His work combines themes of socio-politics with aesthetically pleasing yet non-idealized portraiture of Black people from all parts of the diaspora. Tyler is intrigued by all forms of eclectic audiences ranging from jazz concerts, museum events to dive bar art shows.
Tyler’s work has been featured in The City of Raleigh Museum, The Black Friday Market (Raleigh, NC), 311 Gallery, PNC Plaza, Marbles Kids Museum, and Greensboro Project Space. Tyler holds a BA in Art History and minors in Ceramics and Arts Administration from UNC Greensboro.
This program has been organized by the Leading with Objects project team. There will be Visitor Engagement Fellows in attendance to document the performance.
