DESCRIPTION:Join Greensboro dance company JOYEMOVEMENT ( https://www.joyemovement.com/ ) in a performance of “Delicate Territory,” part of the programming for Of Salt and Spirit. Refreshments will follow. Presented in collaboration with the UNCG African American and African Diaspora Studies Program.\nDelicate Territory examines how ancestral memory can be discovered through movement and lead us through tumultuous times. How can we hold onto or reimagine the passed-down wisdom required to navigate the future? How can we lean on our legacy of agility and innovation and apply it to our present circumstances?\nThis piece is a dance suite in three parts featuring a solo, a trio, and a quartet. Choreographed by Alexandra Joye Warren, performed by Milanda McGinnis, Adrienne Powell, Caroline Robertson, Tatiyana Rudolph, Victoria Williams, and Annie Young. Costumes designed by Pamela Bond.
