DESCRIPTION:Location: Dillard Room\nJoin WAM curators for a discussion of abstract artists Lee Krasner, Elaine de Kooning, Grace Hartigan, Joan Mitchell, and Helen Frankenthaler inspired and shaped by Mary Gabriel’s 2017 book Ninth Street Women. We will examine artwork and historical context to unravel how these five women’s artworks function as both an expression of their humanity and as mid-century social commentary.\nThe session will be followed by light refreshments in the Atrium.
