DESCRIPTION:\nLocation:  Dillard Room, first floor.\nRegister for this event is at capacity, no spots remaining.\nJoin us for the Public Gilding Demonstration, January 26 @ 6:30-7:30pm\nIn this workshop, participants will learn about the different materials and tools used to apply metal leaf to a variety of substrates. Participants’ practical application of gold leaf on heavy watercolor paper will include multilevel gilding and embossing/tooling of the metal leaf to create a modern illuminated letter.\nMaterials provided. Limited to 20 participants. Free.\nJessica Yee spends her days writing, but she is not a writer. The Durham-based renowned calligrapher puts pen to paper masterfully spelling out names and addresses; honing her technique; and experimenting with new letter art. Jessica began studying the lettering arts thirty years ago, learning from some of the premier calligraphers and letter artists of the world. She is a past president of the Triangle Calligraphers Guild. She is the founder of The Oblique Pen.\n\n
